Beach season is almost upon us and that can mean only one thing – time to get the bikini or bathing suit out of storage. The mere thought of this is enough to have some women screaming in terror (okay, I exaggerate, but only a little), but there is no reason why it should. Not only should we let silly body insecurities stop us from having fun in the sun, but there are also lots of little things we can do to enhance our appearance in our bathing suits.
If you want to look and feel great in your bathing suit, here are some simple things to do to ensure that you look your best on the beach:
Choose a Suit That Feels Comfortable
There’s no point choosing a tiny handkerchief bikini if you’re going to be worried about popping out of it every five seconds, or choosing a bathing suit that you feel shows too much of your stomach, which you are uncomfortable with if you’re going to feel self-conscious all of the time, Besides, if you choose a suit you feel comfortable with, you will exude confidence and that will make you look way better than any piece of cloth.
Choose a Suit for Your Body Shape
You should also choose a bathing suit or bikini that works with your body shape because that will enhance your natural features the most. You can find a good guide to the best shape of suit for you here. Of course, if that feels too limiting, feel free to break the mold!
Do Some Squats
Many women feel most self-conscious about their butts when they’re wearing swimwear. If you’re one of them, then you may want to tone up your booty before you slip into your bathing suit. Butt liposuction or implants are an option depending on what you want to achieve, but if you’re looking for a natural way to give the bottom a boost, then you really can’t go wrong with squats and lots of walking. Do them as often as you can before beach season and you’ll have no trouble bearing your bottom when the weather heats up.
Stand Up Straight
It’s such a simple thing, but if you stand up straight, your stomach will look flatter and more toned, as will your legs, and you will look way more confident to boot. So, if you’re worrying about bearing your middle on the beach and you don’t think you’ll have enough time to totally tone up, don’t worry, just stand up strong and you’ll be fine.
Another “cheats” way to look much more healthy and toned on the beach is to contour your fake tan. If you do it right, you can make yourself look much slimmer and even create a hint of super-toned ab muscles, even if you have none.
I’m sure you’ll agree that all of these ideas are pretty easy to do and they will make a huge amount of difference to how amazing your look and feel in your swimwear this year. Have fun in the sun!
